Michael Mroz's Errors

Mike wrote a piece in three parts for vibes, cello, double bass, and violin. I recorded it in a Chicago living room in the winter of 2010. Most of what you hear was captured with a pair of Shure KSM32 in ORTF. We also close-mic'd the vibes, but maybe next time we'll move them to another room because they tended to overpower the strings (everyone was in a semi-circle, folk-jam style).

Naturally, since I can't leave well-enough alone, I cut up a few breaks and locked them to a grid. What we have, then, is a few nice string loops played by real players with computerized timing, ready for your beats. Have fun.

Credits:
Tim Decillis - vibraphone
Tamiko Terada - violin
Chris Stavrou - cello
Scott Figler - double bass
